hawaiiStop penalising the sick, stop the propaganda and listen to the the science, and decriminalise cannabis in Australia!
What's the difference between NSW and the ACT, cannabis law.
It's hard to make sense of it. Why is cannabis decriminalised in SA, ACT, NT and not the rest of Australia?
What do the statistic say about the states where cannabis has been decriminalised for over 20 years, are there more fatalities on the roads, more real crimes such as theft, murder, rape?
Surely the governments have the data and have analysed whether we are better off decriminalised?
Cannabis does not create monstrous people, crazed terrorists, murderers.
It's been scientifically established that it's non toxic and does not cause mental illness. Every piece of negative propaganda produced over the past 60 years has been debunked by leading academia, yet we still have a war on cannabis.
But hey, times are changing and the truth is slowly revealig itself to those with open minds.
Viva Hawaii !!!!! and come on Australia, wake up.

The Judiciary Committee in the Hawaii House of Representatives today gave approval to a resolution –  HCR 127[1] – that would establish a study on the potential decriminalization of all drugs. The vote was 7 to 1.

Specifically, the measure directs the state’s Legislative Research Bureau to “conduct a study on the feasibility and advisability of decriminalizing the illegal possession of drugs for personal use in Hawaii” so that it would “constitute an administrative or civil violation rather than a criminal offense.” Researchers will examine Portugal’s model of drug decriminalization, with the study to be finished and presented to the legislature by the end of the year.

In Portugal, the personal possession of all drugs has been decriminalized for nearly 15 years, and the results have been a resounding success[2]. According to a report[3] by the Cato Institute, not only has drug usage rates declined in the country since decriminalization, addiction rates, overdose deaths and STDs are also down drastically (with much of this due to the fact that the government is now offering treatment without threat of legal ramifications).

HCR 127[4] will now head towards a full House vote, where its passage will send it to the Senate.[5]

Under this model (which we’re not advocating as perfect, but is drastically better than what we currently have), usage rates among minors decreased, as did the overall number of people consuming drugs. In addition, there was a large decrease in addiction rates, as well as in the rates of overdoses and STDs, likely due to the government offering treatment without threat of legal ramifications.)
